Students from kindergarten through university level participate in the Destination Imagination Challenge Program.
The following are the age/grade requirements to participate in the 2014-15 Destination Imagination Challenge Program:
Kindergarten-5th grade (No student reaching age 12 by June 15, 2015)
6th-8th Grade (No student reaching age 15 by June 15, 2015)
9th-12th Grade (No student reaching age 19 by June 15, 2015)
Preschool through 2nd grade
College & University Level
- Full-time post-secondary students enrolled in college, university, trade, or technical school or military. High school seniors who are bound for higher education are also eligible.

There are seven new Destination Imagination Challenges to choose from each year. The areas of focus include: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structural and Service Learning. There is also a non-competitive Early Learning Challenge that allows participants to build social and problem solving skills.
