Sign Up for a Creativity Camp!

Do your kids wish they could do Destination Imagination (DI) year-round? Our friends at DI New Hampshire and DI Poland are offering summer camps that help DI kids continue to develop their creative potential, take risks, form new friendships and have fun! Check them out below.

Camp Gottalikachallenge

Camp Gottalikachallenge is one of the oldest creativity camps in the United States. Every summer, they welcome campers from around the world to a week of summer camp fun at a variety of sites around New Hampshire.

Camp Gottalikachallenge, affectionately called Gotta Camp, provides a fast-paced adventure in problem solving and fills campers’ days with hands-on learning and challenging activities, offering plenty of mental muscle-stretching games and zany fun guaranteed to get their creativity flowing.

Gotta Camp creates a safe, structured, caring and supportive environment. Campers are encouraged to share their talents, to take risks, to recognize their similarities and differences, to be inclusive, and to have fun! In this idyllic place, campers often form lasting friendships with their team and dorm mates.

The camp program focuses on helping all campers develop their own creative potential. The ultimate goal is to empower campers to approach life’s challenges with confidence, honing their creative and critical thinking skills, teamwork and leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Each morning, campers work in teams of 10 with two staff members to create a solution to the week’s Gotta-Problem. Every afternoon, campers are given a choice of activities–land and some water sports, or a specialty session–a potpourri of stagecraft techniques, improv games, arts and crafts, unusual projects and other offerings. Evening activities at the overnight sessions range from campfires to a talent show to group challenges. Think FUN 24/7!

Gotta Camp day camp session is open to any child entering 4th through 9th grade. Overnight sessions are open to any child entering 5th through 9th grades. Enthusiasm for group activities, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn are a must. Gotta Campers are expected to treat each other with respect, to approach activities with an open mind and to contribute in a positive way to the camp experience.

Gotta Camp’s high-energy staff is dedicated to making each child’s experience at camp thoroughly rewarding. The staff includes a Director, Assistant Director, and experienced coaches and junior coaches – many of whom were campers themselves. Most adult staffers have degrees in education and/or extensive experience with Destination Imagination, and all are skilled in facilitating creative problem-solving activities. Each staff member has unique skills and talents to share and plans specialty games and activities for campers.

This summer, Camp Gottalikachallenge is offering one Day Camp session and two Overnight sessions:

  • Day Camp: July 22-26, Manchester NH
  • Overnight 1: Aug 4-9, Wolfeboro, NH
  • Overnight 2: Aug 11-16, Wolfeboro, NH

Financial assistance is available for campers who qualify. Visit NH-DI.org/Camp for all the details, and to register online.
