Sheila Swanson has been involved with creativity organizations since 1988. She has worked in such volunteer roles as Team Manager, Regional, Affiliate and Globals Appraiser, Regional, Affiliate and International Challenge Master, and Regional Director.
Sheila graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Denver with a degree in English, Education and Spanish. Besides supervising the billing department and the accounting department at United Parcel Service, she was one of the first female UPS drivers before creating and managing her own successful bookkeeping firm.
Sheila was a part of the creation of Destination Imagination, and she designed many of the ways in which DI works with the volunteers as they help create and implement the program throughout the year. Currently serving as the DI Programs Director, Sheila leads all phases of the program, domestically and internationally, from Challenge development through implementation. She is the Tournament Director for Global Finals. Her leadership also extends to the many exciting special projects on which DI is working.
She loves travel and learning about other cultures, and has both visited and lived in many countries around the world. She is also interested in good literature, theater, art, film and baseball.
