Destination Imagination, Inc. (DI), the Alumni Ambassadors and the Alumni Council invite you to connect with your creative peers, get engaged, give back and make an impact!
Are you 18? Did you do DI for at least one season? If your answer is YES, then you’re an alum!*
*We also consider Odyssey of the Mind participants from prior to 2000 to be alumni as well!
As a DI alum, you know how empowering it is to collaborate with others while using your collective creativity to solve seriously tough challenges. The best part about DI is that once you are no longer a participant, you can take what you learned through DI with you wherever your life’s journey takes you. You can take DI to school, to work, to your family, to your friends, to your community–literally anywhere and everywhere. Who knows at what destination you’ll end up?
DI is on a mission to engage as many alumni as possible to stay #TIEDTODI and there are SO many ways to do it! Here are just a few:
Signing up to be an Alumni Ambassador means that you are interested in giving back to DI and being better connected to our global network of alumni. It is a perfect first step, especially if you’ve just graduated from high school or you’re an older alum who is looking for ways to give back. Click here to register. Don’t forget to get your exclusive gold Alumni Ambassador lapel pin, Red Tie and and more to show your spirit!
You can always connect directly with your local DI Affiliate to see what kinds of opportunities there are in your area. Check out our locations page here to find your Affiliate.
If you’re a DI alum, then there is no one better to help lead a team of bright-eyed participants through the DI experience. If you’re interested in becoming a Team Manager, you can find more information about how to do so here.
An ARC serves as the proverbial “welcome wagon” in each DI Affiliate and their role is to help alumni find the right fit within a particular Affiliate. They’re like the Obi-Wan Kenobi for newly minted alumni. Click here to find your Affiliate’s page, which will list your Affiliate’s ARC if there is one. If your Affiliate does not have an ARC listed, there may be an opening. Make sure you’re registered as an Alumni Ambassador and then contact the Alumni Council directly at [email protected] to learn more about this unique volunteer opportunity.
The Alumni Council is a collective of Alumni Ambassadors from around the world. Each member of the council is chosen to serve a four-year term and during that time, they work closely with DI headquarters on a variety of initiatives that advance the organization forward. Every year, in October, applications open for new spots on the Council. Register as an Alumni Ambassador to learn more and apply. Make sure you follow the Alumni Ambassadors Facebook page and are signed up to receive the Alumni Compass. If you have any questions for the Alumni Council you can email them directly at [email protected].
When you donate monetarily back to DI, you can help Take It Everywhere by supporting the organization in meeting its mission of inspiring participants to achieve anything they can imagine in life – and who doesn’t want to do that? If you want to make an investment in the future of DI, click here.
Destination Imagination participants go on to do remarkable things! They are successful engineers, artists and educators–innovators and leaders in a variety of fields. Read some inspiring stories of DI Alumni here.
