Class of 2020: Virtual DI Graduation Celebration

The Destination Imagination (DI) Alumni Council is excited to honor the Class of 2020 with the first-ever Virtual DI Graduation Celebration!

On Saturday, July 11, please join us at 3:00 p.m. ET for a grand celebration! We will have special appearances by the DI Graduate of the Year; DI’s Executive Director, Michele Tuck-Ponder; Chair of the DI Board of Trustees, Louise Liddle; and more. The ceremony will be broadcast online for all supporters, parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. to view. Stay tuned to the Destination Imagination Alumni Ambassadors Facebook page for more information.

This event is open to all DI participants and alumni graduating from high school or secondary school, college or university, trade school, or with an advanced degree. Participation in Global Finals 2020 is not required! Interested graduates should fill out this form by Tuesday, June 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET. July 8, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Don’t forget to pick up a DI Alumni Red Tie so that you can stay #TiedToDI and be recognized as a DI alum at future events!

And to put your creative skills to the test, we have a special Graduation Instant Challenge for you! Using only materials you have at home, create a one-of-a-kind DI graduation cap to wear during the ceremony. Make sure to send a picture to [email protected] so we can show off your creativity.

Special Workshops for the DI Class of 2020

Ever wondered how you’ll be able to keep DI a part of your life after your years as a participant are done? We can help! The Alumni Council is hosting two virtual panels on the transition to “Alumni Life.”

Want to learn how you can add your DI experience to your resume or use your DI skills in a career or a college degree path? Our first panel will discuss making the most out of your experience and skills in whatever path you choose. Join us on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Are you interested in becoming a DI Challenge Developer, a Challenge Master at the Regional, Affiliate, or International level, or taking on other volunteer roles in the DI world? Our second panel will discuss opportunities available for alumni who want to give back to DI through meaningful volunteer involvement. We will also talk about ways to stay connected to the broader alumni community in a social setting. Join us on Saturday, July 18 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Keep an eye on our social channels for the event links. Both sessions will be recorded and shared on the DI Alumni Facebook page if you cannot make it to the live events. Want to pre-submit questions for the panel to discuss, or leave your email to ensure you get the event links sent directly to you? Fill out this form.
