Volunteers Needed!

By: Tina Shaffer

At Destination Imagination (DI), we believe we have the ability to make a tremendous impact on the lives of both students and communities around the globe – but we can’t do it alone. As a volunteer-led nonprofit, we rely heavily on the efforts and energy of volunteers in more than 45 states and 30 countries. Without volunteers, we would not be able to provide life-changing, 21st-century learning experiences that help students foster their creativity, grow their skill sets, make a difference in the lives of others, and become the best creative problem solvers they can be in any aspect of their lives.

As the tournament season approaches for many of our DI teams, our Affiliates are looking for volunteers to help support their program and tournament experience. Whether dedicating one Saturday to volunteer as an Official or an Appraiser at a local tournament or spending a few hours helping with marketing or media outreach, volunteering for your Destination Imagination Affiliate is a fantastic way to give back to your community. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to see firsthand how students in your area are working together to innovate solutions to our complex, STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Team Challenges.

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, alumnus, family friend, teacher, former Team Manager, or someone who is just learning about DI for the first time, we hope you’ll join us in our mission to empower kids through creativity, innovation and teamwork. (No prior DI experience needed!) Learn more about available volunteer roles and get connected to opportunities in your area today.
