Why Parents Choose Destination Imagination

Why Parents Choose Destination Imagination

Are you a parent who is looking for new opportunities to inspire your kids? Or maybe you’re an educator who is passionate about STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) learning. Become a Destination Imagination Team Manager!

Sixty-five percent of today’s students will be employed in jobs that don’t exist yet. Destination Imagination prepares them for a future that is rapidly evolving. We do this through a project-based learning experience that applies the creative process across seven different Challenge types—Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Engineering, Service Learning and Early Learning—allowing pre-K through university level students to acquire and practice the skills needed to thrive in school, future careers, and beyond.

Our program is 100-percent kid-driven. Students work together in teams to generate ideas, research different topics and techniques, and plan and build their Challenge solutions. This is done under the guidance of a Team Manager (often a parent or teacher), who serves as a mentor and team meeting facilitator but does not contribute ideas or help the team with their project.

As a Team Manager, your kids will have the opportunity to explore their curiosities and be creative while building their teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. And best of all—you will have the opportunity to be a front-row spectator as this experience unfolds.

But don’t take our word from it. Hear from some of our parents on why Destination Imagination is so valuable to their kids’ education.
