Get Your Hat Ready!

Hats On For Creativity Challenge

Have you ever heard the expression, “wearing many hats”? It means that you have several different roles that are different from one to the next. If you are anything like me, you wear a lot of hats during the holiday season. I wear my ‘librarian hat’ when I am reading holiday stories to my students at school, my ‘chef’s hat’ for when I am baking cookies for my grandchildren and yet another as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Destination Imagination.

2020 has been tough on people, including myself. Not being able to see my students, friends and family has been challenging, but it has also led me to become more creative about how I connect with those I care about. Like me, I am sure that you have probably had to wear a number of different hats this year. One that many people in the DI community have been wearing proudly is the ‘giving hat.’ Because of your continued generosity, Destination Imagination has been able to ensure that it can continue to provide extraordinary experiences to children around the world. For that, I am so thankful that you have been so willing to help support DI through this unprecedented time.

This holiday season, Destination Imagination is challenging you to once again put on your ‘giving hat’ and participate in the Hats on for Creativity challenge! Starting now until the end of the year (December 31 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time), you can participate in the Hats On For Creativity challenge with these 3 simple steps!

  1. Make a tax-deductible donation of any amount to Destination Imagination, Inc. online, or by mail, email or phone.*
  2. Post a photo of yourself wearing your favorite hat on social media along with a reason why you put your hat on for creativity using the hashtag #HatsOnForCreativity. There are no rules for the hat that you wear!
  3. Challenge 2 people to participate in the #HatsOnForCreativity challenge by tagging them in your photo.

As for me, I support DI because, as an educator for more than 30 years, I have experienced firsthand how DI transforms students’ lives. I have witnessed students from all backgrounds gain confidence in who they are as individuals. I’ve met with parents and other educators from around the world who have shared stories of students who have gained skills that had laid dormant until they were unleashed through DI. Please consider joining me and many others this holiday season as we support Destination Imagination, Inc., an organization we love, by putting our #HatsOnForCreativity!

Louise Liddle, DI Board of Trustees Chair, participating in the Hats on for Creativity challenge.

Happy Holidays. Be safe.

Sincerely,
Louise Liddle
